So what happens when you say "Girls, quit picking on each other!" Found a playground along the way in Hays Kansas, stopped to stretch our legs and to hopefully wear two little girls out....didn't work, but we had fun!

Marti Moms B-day

Just adding a little something...

Hi, all. I always try to check out the blog every week, like most of you, and get so excited when something new is added. I love to see and hear what you are all doing and what is important enough for you to share. I really do appreciate those of you who bring something to the table, but feel that dad & I don't have anything important enough to share, but then realized that just sharing is important in and of itself, so I will try to participate more, too. Thanks for the prompt, Dallin.
Only news items I have to share:
The lake is FULL!! It is as full as we've ever seen it and at it's limit. It is nice to look at, to ride around - on our bikes, and to canoe or jet ski in. The invitation is always open to have any of you join us, you know.
The grandfather clock is back-to-life again, after a clockmaker fixed it (expensive, but it's my birthday, Christmas, Mothers day present, and worth it!) and set it up again.
Also, last Friday we went up to the "cabin" (needed some work done on it and clean-up. Fortunately dad had gone up and done some cleaning a couple of weeks ago, so it wasn't TOO awful!) and spent the night, then Saturday we helped to work on the road-filling pot-holes, leveling out places, etc. It was good to meet some of our "neighbors on the hill" and to hear their stories about building cabins without permits, etc. Maybe I can get dad to add a picture :) It's so much better with pictures, right?!
One more thing: Most of you know, but just so everyone is aware: Dad & I are going to take a trip to Europe this October. Dad put it together after his Nepal trip, (guilt?) and we decided we'd better do it before there isn't any money left! It's a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. More on that later, if you're interested.
Dad is taking wood working classes, and I'm into my 'projects', so the summer is just going by. That is about all I have to add, which is very boring and why I don't usually write, but if we don't all contribute, what's the point in having this great tool to share our lives with - and it's alot easier than writing letters! So I'm sending the challenge on to the rest of you: Add something! Love to you all. H,h!! K,k!!! SQZ!!!

I Can Fly, I Can Fly, I Can Fly!

On another very windy Oklahoma Saturday, I took to the blue, cloudless sky in my little Cessna 172 but this time I was carrying an FAA Examiner for my final check ride. After lots of study and practice it was time. The ATIS indicated that the surface winds were 24 knots, gusting to 33, and the winds aloft (at 3000+) were 45-52. The rising heat made for a bumpy ride but after demonstrating all the required manuvers completing 5 landings, including a power-off glide from 4000 feet up, I finally did it! Proof you need? Here it is my temporary Private Pilot Certificate! Anyone want to go fly? Pixie Dust optional!

Cousin Ned

Well, Today we had the first real Ultra Sound of the baby that Cameron as so affectionately named Cousin Ned. So far everything looks good and healthy, but the nurse who was doing it said that it'll still be sent to the radiologist just to make sure. Here is a picture of the little feet, even though I'm not one to post all the ultra sound pics, I thought this was actually a cute pic. Well, I'm sure you want to know whether the baby is a boy or girl, well, drum roll please......... It's a BOY!!! (sorry Emma, I know you were hoping for a girl). As Cameron mentioned last week that if it was a boy it would let the whole world see, well, that's exactly how it happened to, the nurse said there was no doubt that it was a boy. However, he was a little camera shy when the nurse was trying to get a good pic of his face, he kept covering his face with his hands so we really couldn't see his nose and lips all that well for a long time, the nurse even had to stop to let Christy move a little to hopefully get him to move a little and uncover his face. She finally got a good enough pic of it, and printed off a few of the pics, and sent off on our way to let everyone know. So obviously everything is going well. Talk to ya all later!!!!

D&C in the BIG D! (During "Operation Transport Darcey")

Today I met up with Darcey after her long 1050 mile trip from Arizona to Dallas, Texas. She has 800 miles to go to get to Florida. We hung out and had some fun, here is some of the good times!

Standing in the place where JFK was blown away (right behind me). This is a bullet hole in the concrete that ricocheted or was a direct hit from the accross the street. (DOES NOT line up with the 6th floor window for I've seen it with my own eyes).

Playing in the bamboo patch at the Dallas Arboretum--Moving with archer-like swiftness....Me and my smokin' HOT sister exactly 1 week to the hour before she gets hitched!

A little story about Darcey's fish Prince Louie Esteban Diego II who had to stay behind in Arizona. (Sorry if the audio doesn't sync up right, but you'll get the point).

Adventures of Savannah & Abigail --Remix--

So I was playing with some video and decided to pull all the movies I had of the girls and put them in one fun to watch production, so here is what I came up with--tell me what you think. (oh and beside, I think no one was looking at Dad's latest blog and we needed some fresh content ) Enjoy!

Medical Mission to Nepal

Rob called last night with birthday greetings. Thanks Rob! He wondered how my excursion to Nepal went. I filled him in a little and then told him I would add some detail to the Miller blog for he and the rest of the clan. So here it is. Darcey, let him know it's here and send me his email add. Questions are welcome.

It's now been over a month ago I returned from Nepal being part of the first Medical Camp to the Kumari. This was a great trip and a result of the Nepal trekking trip I was part of 3 years ago. One of my hiking buddies found a corporate sponsor to build the medical clinic that our guide was trying to find help with. This has been our guides dream since his father died some years ago from an injury in which he couldn't get needed nearby medical help. This corporate sponsor has since backed out now with the shifting economy. However, they did give it a much needed financial kick start last year. A non-profit was recently established and the work continues. Our first medical camp was a huge success. The medical camp site was dedicated for the building of a med clinic and that effort has begun. See: http://www.healthanded4nepal.org for more details of the story and some info. on the organization.

I went along as the chief photographer for the trip and had a great time. Try the link below for viewing many of the pictures:

Also I have a few videos I made and put on youtube if you're interested.
