Christy's book to be available in MAY!

I just thought I'd mention that Christy's book is supposed to be available in May. Maybe she or Matt can add more, but until then, go to Christy's web site and check it out. Way to go Christy!

Another visitor!

I thought you would all want to see the second scorpion to grace my home! It was last Thursday before leaving to get my hair cut. I walked into the kitchen barefoot to get my dinner out of the microwave and saw something scurrying across the floor! I ran to put my shoes on and when I came back it was going behind the fridge!

I couldn't leave the house with a scorpion behind the fridge! Who knows where it would be when I came home? Still behind the fridge? In the shower? In my BED? Fortunately it came back out again and I smooshed it with my feets.

Then I videotaped it squirming.

Then I smooshed it again.
Then I vacuumed it up with the vacuum hose.
Then I emptied the contents of the vacuum into the garbage.
Then I took the garbage to the dumpster outside.

Safe again!

Late to Update

Hola Das Familia!!! Long time no post. So what is the werd from the land of OK? Let's see, where to start. The pictures here are from my last evening with Savannah =( Mom, Dad and Grandma were all there when Savannah decided that she'd had enough of Dad feeding her lemon pie. So the tables turned, classic role reversal. Savannah took the spoon and started feeding me. From the pictures you can tell she was having a good time!

Lately, I've been very busy picking up the pieces of life and getting things in order. Mainly the Tanning salon. I've spent many hours fixing, repairing and updating tanning beds and business process so that I am prepared for a good season of tanning. For now that is my main focus. Hopefully I'll have time to post more later! TTFN!

All Good Things Must Come To An End...

I have one week from this day until I get on a plane...fly to Honolulu...fly to Vegas...and then fly to Denver. And then a week until I fly back to Salt Lake and go back to real life. It's been an amazing experience, and I feel like I had to come out here for a lot of reasons. The biggest of all, if anything, is that I have a greater sense of self, of who I am, and perhaps that's what I needed before moving on to bigger and better things in my life. So in celebration of my time here, I've been trying to take advantage of the island and the beauty and fun things available that you can't find anywhere else in the world...well, you can find it but it's just not the same. Here are a few pictures of this last week, from dirt biking (I should say MUD, not dirt!) and another hike along the Na Pali Coast...through thick mud, high-rise rivers with strong currents, and bamboo trees.

Me, Freddy, and Sherry

Freddy is crazy! We love him though.

Mud mask, anyone?

Good thing I was gonna trash these shoes...

It's a SCARY cave!

The Na Pali Coastline. SO beautiful!

A waterfall we crossed along the eight miles.

Shalane and I thought this tree was awesome. And it is.

On the way back, it got dark and windy and a little stormy.

I was all covered in mud, and I was sick, but I finished the whole thing!

It only took us nearly six hours to trek along the way, but it was an unforgettable day!

More adventures at Sky Harbor!

Cameron flew through Phoenix on his way from Salt Lake back to Oklahoma, so I got to stop by and say hi! We didn't have much time, and I brought along my New Year's Eve date for the ride. It was great to see Cameron if even for a few minutes, and I realized it was four years ago today that I flew out of Oklahoma the last time. Maybe I need to look into making a visit in 2008?!

Darcey and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad hair day (and Cameron, with good hair as always)

Hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve and New Year's Day!
